Temple Run 2

Temple Run 2 is the sequel to the endless runner that popularized the genre on mobile: you play an explorer fleeing a temple after stealing a cursed idol, sprinting down a collapsing path while a giant demon monkey chases from behind. Unlike a lane-based runner, Temple Run 2 has you swiping to turn at forks, lean around curves, and react to a track that includes zip lines, mine carts, and sheer drops in addition to the usual jumps and slides.

The core loop is about reading the path a beat ahead: swipe up to jump gaps and low barriers, down to slide under obstacles or through tunnels, and left or right both to switch lanes and to turn at branching paths that appear without much warning. Tilting or swiping controls the character's lean for collecting coins off to the side, and power-ups like the coin magnet, boost, or shield temporarily change how aggressively you can push through hazards without watching your footing as closely.

What makes it trickier than the average runner is that turns are a genuine decision point, not just an obstacle — arriving at a fork with no clear plan often means turning into a dead drop, since the game doesn't always show what's on the other side of a curve until you commit. Because of that, memorizing common turn patterns in each temple environment (there are several themed run environments the game rotates you between) pays off more than pure reflex, since a wrong turn straight into a gap ends the run instantly.

A genuinely useful habit is to slightly delay your slide inputs rather than sliding the moment you see an obstacle, since sliding too early can put you out of position for a jump immediately afterward — many obstacle strings chain a slide and a jump back to back with very little space between them. Saving a shield power-up for a section with back-to-back hazards is usually worth more than popping it the instant you have it, since the shield absorbs exactly one mistake.

How to play Temple Run 2?

Swipe or use the arrow keys — up to jump, down to slide, left and right to turn or switch lanes. Read forks and curves a beat ahead rather than reacting at the last second, since blind turns can lead straight into a drop. Save shields and boosts for stretches with several hazards close together instead of using them the moment you unlock them.
