The real challenge is moving without being heard. Crouch to move silently. Walk deliberately instead of sprinting. Every sound you make is a mistake waiting to happen. When Granny hears you, she moves toward the noise. If she catches you, she attacks. If she catches you again, the day ends and you restart—losing a full day of your five-day window. This means you cannot afford to panic. Panicked running gets you caught faster than a careful, quiet approach.

Over your five days, the house becomes familiar. You learn which doors squeak, which floorboards creak, and where Granny spends her time. The puzzles themselves are not complicated—use a crowbar on a locked door, match a pattern, or find a specific item—but solving them quietly under time pressure separates success from failure. The tension comes not from impossible puzzles but from executing simple tasks while Granny listens for your mistakes.

Hiding is your lifeline. If Granny spots you coming, slip into a wardrobe or slide under a bed. She will search for a while, but if you stay quiet and do not move, she eventually walks away. This mechanic creates intense moments: you are frozen in a dark corner, barely breathing, listening to Granny shuffle through the house searching for you. Once she leaves, you can breathe again and keep moving.

The game becomes addictive because every run teaches you something. You find a shortcut. You memorize where the next key item is. You realize which escape route suits your play style. Each of the five difficulty levels reshapes the challenge—Normal gives you breathing room to learn, while Extreme makes Granny faster and far less forgiving.

Move carefully and listen for Granny's footsteps. Search every room for the items you need to solve puzzles. When Granny appears, hide or freeze—silence is your best defense. Pick an escape route and commit to finding the items it requires. Do not waste time backtracking or panicking; stay focused and systematic.
