A common opening strategy is to start with a word containing several common vowels and consonants to maximize the information from your first two guesses, then use the greens and yellows you've collected to lock in the remaining letters.

How to play Wordle?

Open with a word that uses common letters spread across different positions rather than a word with repeated letters, since that first guess is mostly about gathering information. Pay close attention to yellow tiles — the letter is right but the position is wrong, so try it in a different slot on your next guess rather than dropping it. Keep a mental (or written) list of confirmed green letters and eliminated gray letters as you go, since juggling too much in your head is the most common way to waste a guess repeating a mistake.
